“It would be too easy if the screen frames were removable, but, based on your question, I gather that they are not. To get them replaced over the pool, you’ll have to get (rent) a plank long enough to span the pool so that you can get to them, or if it’s cheaper, hire somebody who has the equipment.”

“We just had a new cage installed at our house, although we don’t have a pool but do have a spa that we want to protect from small children, bugs and debris. The workers used step ladders and a platform scaffold and stated in the center from the inside of the cage and worked their way out to both ends and they finished while working from ladders on the ground. I would not attempt this job myself even though I consider myself a handiman, it takes some skill and experience to get the screen nice and tight without any wrinkles in it.”

I suppose if you read the OSHA manual you should be putting up scaffolding but the screen monkeys around here just climb on the framing and roll it in. That is far to scary for me … but I weigh 200# and these guys are usually about half that. If you can get to the frame from the bottom you can start each section from the inside and roll to the edge, finishing from the next section until you get to the edge where you roll the last part from outside. Over a pool you will need a tall ladder that can get wet.”
